About Cobden's Hotel
The extraordinarily unique Cobden's Hotel is situated in the beautiful mountain village of Capel Curig. We are on the A5 4 miles west of Betws-y-coed on the way to Bangor. Our traditional Inn is tucked deep in the valley, with breathtaking views of the slopes, forests and River Llugwy. The views are particularly beautiful from the Mountain Bar & Restaurant as well as the tables along the riverbank.
The coal-burning stove warms the bar in the chilly months and the glorious outdoors beckons when the sun shines – this is an idyllic location at any time of the year. A pool table, good sounds on the jukebox, sauna and a delicious menu available in the restaurant would keep you in, if it weren't for the call of Snowdonia and the surrounding area.
The Drinking
So much a part of the mountain scenery, even the rear wall of our bar is actually a piece of craggy mountain rock-face, complete with wild water trickling down the cracks and ferns that grow on the ledges! The Mountain Bar combines a good choice of beverages including local beers and wines from across the world, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and stunning views – you can enjoy a pint while regaling your friends with tales of your mountaineering prowess. Be sure not to exaggerate too much though, you're being watched by 'Goggin' the Welsh Imp.
The Dining
Our clever kitchen team create delicious food from fresh, local ingredients available throughout the day from our inspired menu. All our food is freshly prepared and the menu is sophisticated, without being 'fussy' - satisfying the appetites of our intrepid travellers, holiday makers, day trippers, corporate groups and locals alike We are not aiming for 'your usual pub food' but a mixture of styles British and International supported by a carefully chosen wine list. As we cook your meal to order, the principle is good food, not fast food. Booking is advisable and parties of eight or more should definitely warn us, so that all appetites are satisfied.
